I'm feeling the need to try something new & different. I want to mix up my training a little. I plan on getting stuck into rockclimbing in May & getting these arms of mine to do a little more work. I also really want to get started with some pilates reformer work. I want to use this body of mine as well as I possibly can. The past few years have been a steep learning curve. I've been dancing for over 20 years & have only discovered certain movements & muscles since I started belly dancing. It makes me wonder what else this mass of bone & muscle is capable of that I have no idea about.

I just did a belly flutter! It's was completely involuntary & I have no idea how to do it again, but I'm still excited :)

I have my last gig for the year tomorrow night, & am bringing out a new veil choreography I've been working on. I'm looking at selling some old costumes & buying new ones, inspired by photos like these. I want to head more towards simple & elegant, rather than some of the fussier things I have at the moment.

I'm working at setting my dance goals for next year, & some short-term goals too. This next year's going to be big.

I survived! The past two days have been such an inspiration. We managed to learn a whole choreography, and I filmed the group doing it so I don't forget. Rachel made us take an oath not to post the footage from the weekend, but says that we can film ourselves and upload it. I'm not sure how the lighting will go, but if I get time this week I'll head to the studio and drill it for a while then film it to share. She'd only just choreographed it and changed things that didn't work as we went along, but she said this is the choreography she'll be teaching in workshops for a while so it could be fun to look at beforehand to see what you're in for :)

But now, to bed. Last night's bus trip wasn't the nicest I've had, and my body's still in pain from the workshops. Tribal class tonight should be interesting.
